Lizard Skin is incredibly useful and versatile exotic leather. This leather is so distinctive and shiny. The shiny glazed finish on this leather qualifies the lizard for a drop dead gorgeous dress boot! Lizard skins tend to be thinner than most exotics, but not prone to tearing. These lizard hides have no calcium making them softer and easier to break in than Caiman and Crocodile. Lizard skin in general has a very polished and refined look to the leather.
Teju lizard skin comes from the Southern portions of South Africa. The square-shaped scaly Teju skin is small compared to a larger square pattern of the Iguana Lizard. The Teju is typically 2 – 3 feet long and have long tails in addition to powerful legs.

The Iguana is native to tropical areas of Mexico, Central, and South America. The Iguana often confused with the Teju lizard, has a stockier body structure and is larger. The stockier body of the Iguana Lizard can be distinguished by the characteristic ridge on its back in addition to the larger square scale pattern. The consistent, unvarying skin pattern and its particularly distinct structure, the skins of iguanas are easily utilized in handcrafted products and give a uniform look to products such as boots, belts, and shoes.
